The book is written by Dr. Philip Guo , who is currently an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in University of Rochester. This book is a memoir of his 6 year Ph.D. life in Stanford. I have seen it recommended several times in weibo, but previously have never ever the courage to read it. Anyway, finally I have spent two afternoons finishing reading it. Indeed most Ph.D. ‘s life is really a grind. I do not want to comment anything else on this book, since there are already so many in the web. Just to take this time, to have my mini memoir of my first 4 years Ph.D.’s life.

1st Year - From honeymoon to a finished project

It seems not too bad for my first year, since I finally finished a project, have a paper written and submitted (did not really remember whether the 1st or the 2nd year). With a dream that I might learn and contribute a lot in my Ph.D. life, I started my real research life after 07/25/2011.
